Utah Trip day 4

The 4th day was the last day of convention. The morning was spent in classes and the afternoon we were lucky to hear from Kris Belcher. She is awesome and a wonderful speaker.

Convention ended with a blast. 1st was Shelf Reliance's Got Talent where several consultant's performed their talents..some were great...some...well... then the show was topped off with the three main Exc.'s performing in a "band from the 80"s" it was great.

The kids...spent the day at the hotel swimming!

Utah Trip day 3

Day Three was the 1st full day of Convention. It started with the opening session and the appearance of the popular singing group "The Backorder Boys" AKA the Exc. team of Shelf Reliance.
After the performance we enjoyed Chief Todd in his Iron Chief competition where he introduce Thrive's new line of dinners...Thrive Express

The afternoon was spent in break out sessions and then dinner.
On our way back to the hotel we drove past the Salt Lake Temple and was able to see it all lit up for the evening. It was beautiful!

The kids spent the day swimming at the hotel

Utah Trip day 2

Day two was the start of Shelf Reliance Convention, so the morning we spent doing a little shopping for food and some games/activities so the kids would be set for the next few days while Ramon and I were at the convention.
On Our way to the Salt Palace, where the convention was being held in Salt Lake, Ramon and I had the opportunity to drive past Temple Square.
And Yes it was still raining!

To start the convention we had the opportunity to go and check out the new Shelf Reliance warehouse in American Fork, Utah. It was a very nice place!

In the evening we had a welcome reception were we were able to mix and mingle. Here we are with one of the co-founders - Jason Palmer.

Utah Trip day one

We Left for Utah at 6am on Wednesday Morning. Along the way we needed to make a few stops. One stop we made was the Idaho Falls Temple. We visited the Temple site for about an hour with taking pictures and looking through the visitor center. After being in the car for about 7 hours we really needed to stretch our legs. Macie was in a grumpy mood....we left the car and was almost to the front of the Temple when she remember she wanted her sun glasses and we didn't go back. But after being in the visitor center and the Missionary Couple giving her a picture of Jesus she cheered up.

The Christus inside the Idaho Falls Temple visitor center
The sign entering Utah...would you know it, Utah had gorgeous weather for the two weeks before we got there, yet it welcomed us with RAIN! I was so not happy!
In the distance you can see Bountiful, Utah Temple. This was one of many Temples you can see from the highway once you enter Utah State.

We arrived at our hotel  -- Best Western Timpanagos Inn-- in Lehi, Utah at about 7pm on Wednesday night. we had a really nice room. It was a 2 room suite, the main room with hide-a-bed sofa, TV, fridge. Microwave, table and bathroom. the second room had the two queen beds in it. It was very comfortable.

Trip to Alberta April 2012

For family holidays this spring we went to Alberta before heading down to Utah for a convention. We arrived in Calgary on Friday April 6th and spent two days with Mom, Dad and Janet before heading down to Raymond to see Carma and Larry. On the way down we drove through Mossleigh to see the Inn where Ramon and I work when we were 1st married and Arrowwood to the house my parents lived in...and where Ramon and I were married.
This is the Inn... it really hasn't changed much in the last 12 years!

This is the house in Arrowwood. When we lived here the house was blue and the front steps were the original from when the house/church was put on this site.

This is Auntie Carma having a conversation with Macie.....as you can see she listens closely...yet still looks a little confused as to what Macie is talking about.
Addie with Savanna...the dogs really loved having the kids around and the kids really liked playing with the dogs
The favorite activity of the trip was playing with Uncle Larry and his BeBe gun....I am not sure I if I should be concerned at how good the kids' aim was....note --- don't make kids mad if they are holding gun!

We left Raymond on the 11th of April early in the morning and headed South to Utah!

Good Bye Tree

We were finally able to get the tree in the back yard taken down. It was a very large tree that was rotting at the top of the trunk where it branched out to the bulk of the tree. One good wind could bring it all down, so we did. Man my yard looks large without it and we get wonderful sunlight in the house (when we have sun that is)

Macie's intro to Kindergarten day

In June the school has a little kindergarten introduction day for the kids going into kinder in the fall. Macie was so excited to go and meet the teacher and see some of the kids that she will be in kinder with. She woke up early and wanted to go when she woke up. I told her we were going after lunch...she then told me she wanted a sandwich for breakfast. I told her she could have one for lunch...she said that was her lunch so we could then go to school. I had to tell her that eating "lunch" at 7 in the morning did not mean that it was "after lunch" when she was done. She was very sad.
